Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Early Intervention Home Visitor to support families with young children. This role involves providing in-home services aimed at promoting developmental growth, strengthening parent-child relationships, and connecting families with community resources. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children & Youth and a commitment to fostering positive early childhood experiences in a home setting.
Duties
- Communicate with families and associates in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
- Adhere to policies and procedures, which may be developed and implemented from time to time and in accordance with funding contracts as required.
- Implement and organize the delivery of support within the community.
- Recruitment and admission of families
- Review family background information and prepare intake reports
- Build supportive and trusting relationships with family members
- Assist families with parental management skills
- Provide support to expand parenting material and resources
- Provide cultural and traditional support to children and families
- Meet with families to assess their progress, give support, and discuss any difficulties or problems
- Participate in team meetings, agency meetings, and training deemed relevant
- Maintain an appropriate record and information system and ensure that confidentiality is priority
- Ensure all relevant documentation is complete (contact noes, pre-post evaluations, exit interviews, etc.)
- Assist and provide crisis intervention and emergency services referrals
- Educate parents and caregivers on child development, health, and safety practices.
- Develop individualized plans to address each child's unique needs and promote optimal growth.
- Collaborate with other service providers and community resources to ensure comprehensive support for families.
- Offer guidance on parenting techniques, behavioral strategies, and early learning activities.
Requirements
- Satisfactory Police Information Check (completed within the last 6 months)
- Satisfactory Intervention Record Check (completed within the last 6 months)
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and a clean driving record (Driver's Abstract)
- At minimal, 3-5 years experience working with children, youth and families
- At minimal, 2 years of education in the field or equivilent with 2-5 years of experience
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with families.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently within a home environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Must be compassionate, patient, and culturally sensitive.
- Must have experience working with the Indigenous population
Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
