Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to join our team. The Purchasing Coordinator will work independently and as a part of the Richards’ team to process purchase orders, return to vendor orders and work orders. They will be involved in reporting, enforcement of policies and updating various fields in Richards’ ERP system. This role will work with internal teams and vendors to ensure transactions are processed in an accurate and timely manner.
Duties:
- Effectively and efficiently provide updated information to the Sales Department on any changes to pricing, minimum order requirements, or lead times for Inventory Items and adjust stock levels to reflect these changes
- Discuss with the Sales Department on an on-going basis the purchasing requirements and the arrival of goods to meet the needs of the customers as requested
- Create and modify updated Costing Packages to reflect changes in pricing, logistics, or any other costs associated with the Request to Order
- Set and maintain Inventory Levels to achieve desired product levels to ensure stock meets the needs of the Branch without creating surplus inventory
- Communicate with Vendors to obtain pricing on existing or new items as needed
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal customers and external vendors.
Skills & Knowledge
- Experience in processing PO’s and vendor relationships an asset
- Knowledge of Excel, Great Plains and/or Dynamics 365 Business Central would be considered an asset
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams at various levels within an organization and customers
- Understanding of how to deal with sensitive and confidential information
Experience
- Previous experience in a Buyer role (<5 years)
- Experience using an ERP system
