Credence Construction Ltd. is based out of Yorkton, SK and specializes in industrial mechanics, welding, fabrication, ironworking, carpentry / concrete, scaffolding and other like-trade related fields. We provide ongoing facility maintenance, shutdowns, small to mid-sized capital construction, as well as breakdown and emergency services to client facilities primarily in the agricultural and industrial mining industries.

In this pivotal role, you will develop, implement, and oversee safety policies and procedures that protect our employees and ensure adherence to all relevant health and safety regulations. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement in safety standards, cultivate a culture of safety awareness, and support operational excellence. The position will be paid an annual salary which will be comparable to an hourly range from $38 to $50 per hour. The successful candidate will be hired under a Probationary Full-Time status with a planned move to Permanent Full-Time following a three (3) month probation period. As well, all full-time staff are provided with benefits and an annual Deferred Profit-Sharing Plan (DPSP) contribution.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities / Competencies:
· Must possess a CSO or NSCO Certification and / or similar education and training in related fields
· Capable of developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety policies and practices aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
· Capable of conducting regular safety visits, audits, inspections, and risk assessments across client and company locations to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
· Capable of leading incident investigations to determine root causes, document findings, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
· Capable of planning, scheduling, designing and delivering engaging safety training programs for new hires and ongoing employee development to promote best practices either in house or via 3rd party training partners.
· Collaborate with management to establish safety goals, monitor performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
· Must ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal safety regulations by maintaining accurate records and preparing necessary reports.
· Understanding of regular facility maintenance practices and processes would be an asset
· Capable of working in a team setting or alone
· Capable of mentoring new and current employees
· Capable of communicating and cooperating with clients, staff, public, and / or any other individuals encountered throughout our regular daily operations.
· Must possess exceptional problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills.
· Must be proficient using a computer and document processing software (Microsoft suite of products, Sharepoint, SiteDocs, etc).
· Capable of multi-tasking
· Must possess a strong work-ethic
· Capable of travel, working on the road, and being away for some extended runs and / or shifts
· Capable of working in a variety of climactic conditions
