Access Control & Door Operator Technician
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Access Control & Door Operator Technician to join our team. This role involves installing, servicing, and troubleshooting access control systems, automatic door operators, and related security hardware. The ideal candidate has experience with electronic security systems, commercial door hardware, and automatic entry systems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain access control systems, including keyless entry, card readers, and electronic locks.
- Service and troubleshoot automatic door operators, including low-energy and high-speed systems.
- Install and adjust commercial door hardware such as closers, panic bars, hinges, and locking mechanisms.
- Conduct system inspections, diagnose issues, and perform necessary repairs or upgrades.
- Ensure all installations and repairs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and building codes.
- Respond to service calls and provide timely, professional solutions to clients.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment used, and customer interactions.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in access control, automatic doors, or related security hardware.
- Strong knowledge of electronic locking systems, door operators, and integration with security systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical door hardware.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for access control systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to job sites.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Certification in access control systems (e.g., ASSA ABLOY, KABA, SALTO, etc.).
- Experience with wiring and low-voltage electrical work.
- Knowledge of fire-rated doors and compliance standards.
