Thornhill Child Care Society is seeking an enthusiastic, flexible, and collaborative professional to join our Early Childhood Services (ECS) team in a unique hybrid role that combines educational support, classroom instruction, and program administration.
This position is ideal for a certificated teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and early learning, enjoys variety in their work, and is looking to expand their experience within Alberta's ECS system while being supported by an experienced team of certificated teachers and ECS professionals.
This is a dynamic role that offers a variety of experiences throughout the school year. You may spend one day supporting children in the classroom as an Educational Assistant, another providing Kindergarten classroom coverage, and another working alongside the ECS Director on program coordination and administrative projects.

What You'll Do
This role may include:
- Supporting children in Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten classrooms as an Educational Assistant
- Teaching Kindergarten classes as required to provide classroom coverage
- Assisting the ECS Director with administrative projects and program coordination
- Supporting the implementation of Individual Program Plans (IPPs)
- Working alongside multidisciplinary professionals including speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, physiotherapists, and family support professionals
- Supporting educators to implement universal practices for inclusion
- Helping create engaging learning environments aligned with Alberta's Flight: Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework
- Traveling between Thornhill locations throughout Calgary and Okotoks as operational needs require
We're Looking For Someone Who...
- Holds a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Has a strong understanding of inclusive education and child-centred practice
- Is knowledgeable about Flight: Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework
- Understands universal practices for inclusion and differentiated instruction
- Has experience supporting children with diverse learning needs
- Is comfortable implementing IPP goals and classroom strategies
- Enjoys collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
- Is highly adaptable and embraces change
- Is organized and comfortable balancing classroom and administrative responsibilities
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Enjoys problem-solving and taking on new challenges
- Is eager to continue learning and growing professionally
Qualifications
- Alberta Permanent or Interim Professional Teaching Certificate
- Experience working with young children in inclusive early learning environments
- Early childhood education experience is considered a strong asset
- Knowledge of Alberta Education ECS programming
- Strong organizational and computer skills
- Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
- Ability to travel between Calgary and Okotoks

Pay: $6,500.00-$7,700.00 per month
