Job Overview
The Sports Medicine team in the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking a dedicated Education and Research Administrative Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential to the smooth operation of the Dalhousie Sports Medicine fellowship and research program. The coordinator will be responsible for facilitating education and research events, managing conference logistics, and providing comprehensive administrative support for our fellowship program, including recruitment, onboarding, and trainee coordination.
Position Requirements
Education (Required)
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
Experience
- Prior educational and/or research event planning experience is preferred.
- Prior experience in administrative support, program coordination, or travel logistics (e.g., booking flights/hotels, processing onboarding paperwork) is considered a strong asset.
- An understanding of orthopaedic education programs and workflow is considered an asset.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in Canva or similar design software is preferred.

Role Responsibilities
- Help facilitate events, including but not limited to fellow welcome run, educational labs, journal clubs, visiting professors' trips, annual research nights, annual world cup competition, and conferences.
- Coordinate with team members about event planning, logistics, and execution.
- Help screen and organize fellowship applications for the program.
- Help coordinate with new fellows' paperwork and onboarding process.
- Coordinate research and educational activities within the Sports Medicine Research and Fellowship Program.
- Coordinate with trainees about their clinical rotations within the Sports Medicine Fellowship Program.
- Help facilitate conference logistics, including updating conference schedules, flight booking, hotel booking and conference document filing.
