Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Property Maintenance Technician to support the efficient operation of our short-term rental properties. As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the existing properties are well-maintained, stocked with necessary supplies, and that guests have a seamless experience during their stay. You will be assisting in the set up/renovations of new properties and ensuring all properties meet our standards of care.
Duties
Responsibilities:
Basic Maintenance:
- Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems, and troubleshoot software
- Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and make minor purchases as required
- Respond to requests from residents for minor repairs
- Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify potential issues or areas for improvement
- Coordinate with external contractors for more complex maintenance needs
- Respond in person to issues with locks, electronics, missing supplies, etc. issues
- Move and assemble heavy furniture
Minor Construction:
- Assist with minor construction projects and renovations as needed, such as painting, installing fixtures, building shelves in closets, or assembling furniture.
- Ensure that construction activities adhere to local building codes and safety standards.
- Restocking Supplies:
- Monitor inventory levels of essential supplies (e.g., toiletries, cleaning supplies, kitchen essentials).
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to replenish supplies in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all stocked items meet our quality standards.
Privacy and Information Security:
- Handle guests’ private information with utmost confidentiality and respect for privacy laws.
- Safeguard business software, ensuring secure access and adherence to data protection policies.
- Maintain discretion when accessing and managing guest bookings, financial transactions, and personal information.
- Provide exceptional customer service while addressing maintenance requests from staff or clients.
Additional preferred skill - when maintenance is slow we ask our technician to cover comms
Guest Communication:
- Act as a point of contact for guests, responding promptly to inquiries, requests, and issues.
- Provide guests with information about the property, local attractions, and amenities.
- Address guest concerns professionally and promptly to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Respond in person to issues with locks, electronics, missing supplies, etc. issues.
Requirements

- *MUST HAVE STABLE HOUSING IN CANMORE*
- *MUST HAVE A RELIABLE VEHICLE*
- NO EXCEPTIONS
- Previous experience in property management/maintenance, construction, trades or related field preferred.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance tasks and troubleshooting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality service
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and on call as needed
- Physical ability to perform manual labor and lift up to 50 pounds.
