Position Summary
Our employer partner is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Shop Foreman to oversee daily operations within a busy automotive workshop. This is a salary plus performance-based position requiring strong hands-on mechanical knowledge, leadership abilities, and experience with Kia or Hyundai brands. The successful candidate will support maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, quality control, safety, and team coordination while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise and coordinate daily shop activities related to internal and customer vehicle repairs
· Oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on customer and internal vehicles
· Ensure all work complies with safety standards, manufacturer regulations, and shop procedures
· Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints for accurate repairs and assembly
· Manage inventory of specialty tools, parts, and supplies required for maintenance tasks
· Conduct quality control inspections to confirm repairs meet manufacturer and company standards
· Train and mentor team members to improve technical skills, workflow, and safety awareness
· Collaborate with clients, service advisors, and internal departments to support customer satisfaction
· Maintain efficient shop operations in a fast-paced dealership environment
Qualifications / Requirements
· Valid Ontario 310S License is required
· Minimum 5 years of Kia or Hyundai experience is required
· Proven experience in an automotive dealership environment
· Strong mechanical expertise with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly processes
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and support a team effectively
· Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-service oriented approach
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and safety standards
· Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual labour as required by maintenance tasks
· Valid automotive certifications or licenses related to the role
