Royal Malabar Fine Dining is seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Indian cuisine, excellent cooking skills, and the ability to maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation. The Chef will be responsible for food preparation, cooking, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards while delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards.
- Ensure consistent food quality, taste, portioning, and presentation.
- Supervise food preparation and cooking activities during service.
- Assist in menu planning and development of new dishes and specials.
- Monitor food inventory levels and report ordering requirements.
- Ensure proper storage, labelling, and rotation of food products using FIFO procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations and storage areas.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Minimize food waste and maintain cost-effective kitchen operations.
- Train and support kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and kitchen procedures.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate order execution.
- Inspect ingredients and finished dishes to ensure quality standards are met.
- Assist with catering orders, buffet preparation, and special events as required.
- Perform opening and closing kitchen duties.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine.
- Excellent cooking, food preparation, and knife-handling skills.
- Ability to prepare a wide range of traditional and contemporary Indian dishes.
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize during busy service periods.

Pay: $40,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
