Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled, energetic, friendly, and passionate Medical Lab Technician / Medical Office Assistant who values accuracy, empathy, and safety to join our team. You will greet patients, collect biological specimens (including venipuncture), process lab samples, and maintain clean, safe testing stations. You will also perform phlebotomy duties and assist at the front desk reception as part of our professional team.
Qualifications, Certification & Experience
- Education: Graduate of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician (MLAT) program or equivalent.
- Certifications: MLPAO Certification or CSMLS Certification preferred.
- Experience: Proven phlebotomy (venipuncture) and specimen-handling experience in a clinic or other health centre.

Key Responsibilities
- Welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer the telephone, register patients, and schedule appointments
- Process referrals, forms, faxes, and payments for uninsured services
- Perform safe blood draws (venipuncture) and collect other clinical specimens from patients
- Accurately label, log, centrifuge, and prepare specimens for in-clinic testing or for daily LifeLabs pick-up
- Strictly follow Ontario health and safety guidelines, privacy laws (PHIPA & PIPEDA), and infection control protocols
- Obtain patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation, height, weight, waist circumference, and other measurements as required

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
