Gostlin Keefer Lake Lodge (GKLL) is seeking an Guest Relations Assistant to join our growing Guest Relations department. Our ideal candidate will be someone who is friendly and outgoing, with an excellent standard in customer service, who can multitask effectively and who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
As an Guest Relations Assistant at GKLL, you would be responsible for developing, managing and assisting in year-round guest related events hosted at GKLL. Excellent computer and communication skills are essential for this role as well at the ability to work autonmously, and use initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assumes the role of the main point of contact for all incoming guest enquiries and bookings.
- Manages all guest relations enquiries with a high-level of enthusiam to ensure an exceptional guest experience with every interaction, be it on the phone, or via email.
- Manages inboxes inline with departmental processes
- Manages the CRM system, ensuring accurate tracking and logging of information across the board.
- Completes tasks assigned with accuracy and in a timely manner
- Has an interest in planning and executing weddings, wellness retreats, adventure tourism events, corporate retreats and more essential.
- Assist with the development of proposals, contracts, and event planning, set‐up, décor
- Prepare cost & billing details and other requirements pertinent to assigned event
- Be the onsite Guest Relations represenative to support the lodge team with all aspects of an event
- Promote GKLL as a premier destination for clients and vendors
- Create and maintain a database of potential clients
- Assist with marketing as required
- Participate in weekly operations and events meetings with internal departments
Key Skills and Attributes :
- Event Management, Marketing Management, Communications or Hospitality certificate/diploma highly desirable
- 2-3 years’ experience in a Guest Services or Event Management Role
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Word, and Excel
- A willingness and enthusiasm to jump in and help with any aspect of operations when needed
- Effective communication skills to relay concise direction
- Excels under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining physical stamina, a positive mental attitude and the ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, employees and outside contacts
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to and from the lodge. Accommodations will be provided on shift should you choose to stay.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing and moving necessary to perform job duties
- Open to working a diverse schedule to accommodate the event schedule (including weekends)
- Ability to communicate fluently in English
- Legally able to work in Canada
Salary & Shifts:
- $22.50-$26/hour plus gratuities, accommodations and meals
- Variety of mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Work is onsite at Keefer Lake Lodge
