Overview
VK Basketball is seeking a motivated, organized, and player-focused professional to support the growth of our basketball programs in Canada and the United States.
This role will work closely with players, families, coaches, schools, clubs, and basketball organizations, with a particular focus on player development, U.S. basketball opportunities, athlete support, and program operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and coordination of VK teams, camps, tournaments, events, travel, and schedules.
- Serve as a point of contact for athletes and families exploring basketball opportunities in the United States.
- Help players understand and navigate U.S. schools, clubs, tournaments, camps, showcases, and recruiting opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with coaches, schools, clubs, and basketball organizations across Canada and the U.S.
- Mentor athletes and support their confidence, leadership, communication, resilience, and overall development.
- Help athletes manage the academic, social, and competitive demands of pursuing basketball at a higher level.
- Support communication between players, parents, coaches, schools, and program partners.
- Assist VK leadership with new programs, partnerships, events, and growth initiatives.
- Maintain athlete, program, and operational information.
Qualifications
- Experience working with youth athletes, families, coaches, schools, or sports organizations.
- Strong knowledge of basketball and player-development pathways.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness and ability to travel between Canada and the United States.
- Knowledge of U.S. basketball programs, schools, tournaments, recruiting, or youth sports is a strong asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in sports management, business, education, psychology, communications, or a related field is preferred.
