Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our transportation team. This role involves safely operating commercial vehicles to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle heavy equipment and freight logistics efficiently. Experience with forklift operation, automotive repair, or heavy equipment is considered a valuable asset.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for local and long-distance freight deliveries
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle operability
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during transportation activities
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams regarding delivery schedules and issues
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving, freight handling, or related fields preferred
- Knowledge of forklift operation and heavy equipment operation is a plus
- Basic automotive repair skills are advantageous
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and follow safety procedures diligently
