The Canadian Red Cross is seeking recent or impending graduates of Philanthropy or Fundraising programs to participate in the Graduate Program within the Philanthropy Department

The role will consist of a two (2) year rotation within 10 different areas of the Philanthropy Department. The areas consist of Donor Experience & Engagement, Direct Marketing, Digital Marketing, Community Engagement, Business Systems & Analytics, Finance Budgeting & Planning, Major Gifts, Corporate Partnerships, Foundations & Grants, and Planned Giving. New graduates from Canadian Universities and Colleges will be competitively selected to join the CRC under the Philanthropy team. This will be a paid position.

In addition to departmental experience, successful applicant will also have the opportunity to enhance their learning through deployment to Canadian Red Cross Domestic Emergency Response Operations. This will enable full picture exposure to many areas of the Canadian Red Cross operations.

Further enrichments to the program include one-on-one mentorship from leaders within the Canadian Red Cross to assist with professional growth, as well as internal and external training opportunities.

Networking and learning opportunities will also be available through travel to the annual Canadian Red Cross Philanthropy Conference, National Fundraising Day, international Red Cross Conferences, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Congress.

Immerse graduates into various opportunities available for philanthropic support at the CRC, to develop their cross-channel experience.

CORE LEARNINGS AND OUTCOMES

Creative Development: Extending thinking and executing strategies beyond what is already known regarding fundraising.

Technical Development: Learning about the unique Canadian Red Cross (CRC) approaches.

Personal Development: Team building and understanding the geographic and operational breadth and depth of CRC, valuable developmental skills.

Defined Outputs: Evaluation on specific projects and documentation of learnings as integration will be crucial on using body of knowledge in next area of rotation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Graduate, impending graduate or recent graduate of a recognized Canadian post-secondary Marketing or Fundraising Program
Experience in a fundraising role whether paid or volunteer considered an asset, but not required.

Skills and Abilities

Fluency in English; French considered an asset, although not mandatory
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Demonstrated customer service skills;
Exceptional organization skills;
Ability to manage a variety of tasks, priorities, and time;
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint);
Valid Drivers Licence an asset (but not required) as some travel may be required
Ability to travel outside of and within all areas of Ontario
