Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Bartender/Shift Lead to join our team. This role involves preparing and serving beverages, providing exceptional customer service, and leading the bar staff during shifts. The ideal candidate will possess strong hospitality skills, excellent time management, and a solid understanding of food safety and food handling protocols. As a Shift Lead, you will also oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with safety standards, and support team members to deliver a memorable guest experience.
Duties
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages efficiently using Toast POS system.
- Manage cash handling and cashiering responsibilities accurately during shifts.
- Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with guests, taking orders, and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area in accordance with food safety standards.
- Lead by example in adhering to food handling, safety procedures, and responsible alcohol service.
- Oversee shift operations, including sectioning staff, delegating tasks, and ensuring smooth workflow.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management.
- Ensure compliance with all health regulations and company policies related to food service and alcohol consumption.
- Assist with training new team members on POS systems, serving techniques, and safety protocols.
- Handle basic math calculations for billing, tips, and cash reconciliation at the end of each shift.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in restaurant or food industry settings preferred; hospitality background is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously.
- Excellent time management skills to handle busy shifts efficiently.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Basic math skills for cashiering, cash handling, and transaction accuracy.
- Ability to serve alcohol responsibly following all legal requirements- Smart serve certification is a must.
- Leadership qualities to effectively manage team members during shifts as a Shift Lead.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
