Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Journeyperson Plumber to join our team in Nunavut. This role is essential to ensuring the performance, reliability, and energy efficiency of mechanical systems across a variety of project sites. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, safety‑focused, and comfortable working in isolated northern environments on extended rotations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and maintain HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
- Conduct routine inspections and perform preventive maintenance
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Collaborate with team members to meet project schedules and quality standards
- Perform heavy lifting, assembly, and construction‑related tasks
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide timely solutions
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical experience in HVAC, plumbing, or related trades
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Familiarity with mechanical system maintenance procedures
- Skilled in the safe operation of hand and power tools
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Relevant trade certifications (HVAC, plumbing, gas fitting) considered an asset
- Physically capable of working in demanding and cold‑climate environments
- Willingness to work fly‑in/fly‑out rotations in Arctic locations
- Legally eligible to work in Canada (no sponsorship)
Work Conditions
- Fly‑In/Fly‑Out from major Canadian city hubs
- 4–6 week rotations with 10–14 days off
- Northern work environment with varying weather conditions
