Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Material Handler is responsible for the physical and administrative tasks involved in the storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. You maintain stock and distribute materials to various departments within the assembly process.
Key Functions & Duties
· Drives forklift, loads and unloads trucks
· Check incoming deliveries to make sure all ordered material matches paperwork
· Cycle count parts accurately
· Pull material to fulfill orders correctly
· Packing, wrapping and labelling of goods
· Store materials and supplies in proper storage locations
· Expedite flow of goods between assembly, storage and dock areas
· Maintain a clean organized warehouse and loading dock
· Health and Safety
- Reporting hazards/unsafe working conditions
- Following all PPE/Safe Work instructions
- Understand responsibilities related to Provincial legislation
· Environmental
- Work to achieve Environmental objectives
- Understand how their tasks/activities impact the environment
- Report environmental concerns
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
· Experience in using warehouse equipment (ex. forklifts, barcode scanners, pallet jacks)
· Ability to read and understand task sheets and Bill of Material (BOM)
· Willing to take direction and comply with all safety regulations
· Understanding the importance of accurate cycle counts
· Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
· Dexterity and attention to detail
· Good organizational and time management skills
· Self-motivated
· Experience in inventory management, warehousing or shipping & receiving is an asset
· High school diploma or equivalent
· A forklift certificate will be required (training provided)
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
