Full-Time Embalmer – Vescio Funeral Home
Vescio Funeral Home is seeking an experienced, dedicated Full-Time Embalmer to join our team. We are looking for a professional who takes great pride in their work and is passionate about providing the highest standard of care, preparation, and presentation for every decedent entrusted to us.
The successful candidate will work closely with our funeral directors and support staff to ensure each individual is prepared with exceptional attention to detail, dignity, and respect.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform embalming and preparation of decedents to a high professional standard
- Dressing, casketing, hair preparation, cosmetics, and restorative work as required
- Ensure each decedent is presented at their very best for visitation and services
- Assist funeral directors with transfers when required
- Maintain a clean, organized, sanitary, and fully stocked preparation and dressing area
- Receive casket deliveries, inspect caskets for quality and damage, and maintain proper organization
- Monitor inventory and order embalming chemicals, cosmetics, PPE, and other preparation-room supplies
- Follow all BAO requirements, health and safety procedures, and Vescio Funeral Home standards
- Work collaboratively with our funeral directors and management team
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
No weekends or statutory holidays.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 1 Funeral Director’s Licence with the Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO)
- Valid Ontario G Driver’s Licence with a clean driving record
- Strong embalming, cosmetic, restorative, dressing, and casketing skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Professional, dependable, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Previous embalming experience is required
