Job Description:
This position reports to the Director, Student Conduct & Academic Integrity and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Office of Student Conduct and Academic Integrity (SCAI). The Student Case Coordinator works with students, faculty, and staff to confidentially address a range of student behavioural concerns. Including both academic and non-academic behaviour.
The Student Case Coordinator is responsible for case consultation with relevant faculty staff and administrators, receiving and assessing reports, coordinating appropriate responses, coordinating support to students, and all aspects of student case management.
The Student Case Coordinator acts under college policy to undertake investigations into possible policy violations, renders decisions and formal recommendations, and imposes remedies related to found violations. Additional responsibilities include the design and delivery of educational and training opportunities to the College Community; project planning and implementation as it pertains to the Office’s strategic direction; maintenance of the departmental data base, and the and ongoing development of processes and procedures within the Office.
The Student Case Coordinator is required to maintain currency in best practices associated with student behaviour management in a post-secondary environment and work with a high volume of information and materials that are of a confidential and/or sensitive nature within a high stress, time pressured environment
Qualifications Required:
Education & Experience:
-
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
-
Minimum of five (5) years related experience in a post-secondary institution, preferably within a student services department.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Skills & Abilities:
-
Formal training in one or more of conflict resolution, alternate dispute resolution, restorative justice and violence/risk management is an asset.

Thorough knowledge of administrative law principles
-
Thorough knowledge of interviewing and fact-finding techniques.
-
Thorough knowledge of report writing and presenting.
-
Experience developing and implementing training, promotional strategies, policies, and procedures

Working knowledge of the BC College and Institute Act, The BC Human Rights Code, Sexual Violence and Misconduct Policy Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, BC Occupational Health and Safety Regulations,
-
Proficient in the use of computer applications
-
Experience with project planning, event organizing.

Considerable knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic.

Working knowledge of threat/risk assessment procedures.

Familiarity with sexual misconduct response processes in a post-secondary environment.

Salary Range:
$39.56 - $58.03 per hour

Admin Paygrade 08
Compensation beyond the mid-point requires approval by the Public Sector Employers’ Council Secretariat (PSEC).
