Ela Greek Taverna is a well-established, locally owned restaurant that has been serving the Halifax community for more than 20 years.
We are currently looking for an experienced Line Cook to join our kitchen team at our Bayers Lake location.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is dependable, works well with others, and is comfortable working in a busy, professional kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items consistently according to our recipes and standards
- Work efficiently on assigned stations during busy lunch and dinner services
- Complete daily food preparation and station setup
- Maintain proper portioning, presentation and food quality
- Keep workstations clean, organized and properly stocked
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Assist with receiving, storage and proper rotation of food products
- Communicate and work effectively with the rest of the kitchen team
- Maintain consistency and quality during high-volume service
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties as required
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous line cook experience at least 5 years in a full-service restaurant
- Strong cooking and food preparation skills
- Experience working grill, sauté, fry or other high-volume stations
- Ability to work quickly and stay organized during busy service
- Good understanding of food safety and kitchen sanitation
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Availability to work evenings and weekends
