As a Strategic Director, Heavy Rental & Used Equipment you will build the strategy and channel support model to grow the used equipment and heavy rental fleet business for Finning Canada. You will be responsible for revolutionizing the strategic framework and grow customers for rental and used business along with actively identifying best practices while gaining alignment across business functions.
Utilizing your background in equipment, sales or operational leadership you will create the vision and plan to optimize asset performance through enhanced retail and online channel development. You bring a proven track record of optimizing results in growing industries and managing through market fluctuations. You leverage technology enablers and are a leader to embrace customer relationship tools (CRM).
You are a high impact leader, natural facilitator and change leader with proven experience in building channels to drive business results. You will have a broad knowledge of issues and trends, and a thorough understanding of strategic planning and business practices.

Develop sourcing strategy and define equipment trade evaluation process and assessment to maximize purchase to market demand including rebuild and consignment opportunity
Build and execute on channel development and overarching strategy to increase used equipment turns and drive profitability. Includes domestic and international markets, retail and online channels.
Increase Finning’s overall presence in the rental and used equipment market digitally supported with marketing and campaigns.
Develop a vision that will elevate Finning to be these accounts’ preferred used equipment solutions provider and implement this vision through execution of strategic customer plans
Collaborate with other leaders across Finning to leverage and enhance the rental and used equipment sales process
Understand the industries, opportunities, and key influencers such that we are focused generating results and maximum benefits to Finning
Managing sourcing requests and capital plans to market demand and Annual Operating Plan expectations
Create process and a plan to maximize turns and profitability
Support and lead the business through negotiations and decision-making with a strong interpersonal focus and positive impact on the business performance
Minimum 10+ years of leadership experience in the equipment industry, sales or operations with demonstrated success in change management, ideally with large-scale initiatives of significant dollar amounts and implications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
Knowledge of the equipment business, specifically the used equipment market and business
Understanding of equipment life cycles
Strong problem-solving skills such as prioritization, critical thinking and hypothesis development
Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive results, lead change and influence at all levels
In depth understanding to grow channels in a market both physical and online
CRM understanding and the role of CRM in the used equipment business
Highly effective written & oral communication skills
High proficiency in business applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint)
