DEFINITION:
Under the direction of the Program Supervisor, operates fifteen (15) passenger van transporting school aged children to and from school and as needed driving for other City programming. Shuttle driver to maintain safety of passengers, and assist all passengers with special needs entering or exiting the van.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

Operate fifteen (15) passenger van on a daily basis working a split shift approximately 1.5 hours in the morning and 1.5 hours in the afternoon and occasional day/field trips as needed;

Complete required pre-trip safety checks and needed fuelling;
- Follow assigned routes;
- Ensure all passengers are properly secured and briefed on safety guidelines for travel;

Ensure van is tidied following all trips;
- Maintain a safe environment on the bus and report issues to Program Staff as appropriate;

Prepare and maintain daily operational records and reports;

Other duties, as required.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Grade 12 education;

Minimum of two years' related experience;

Clean driver's abstract with safe driving record;

Demonstrated ability to operate relevant equipment safely and efficiently;

Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector search;
-
First Aid training;
-
Ability to deal effectively with co-workers and the public;
-
Valid Class 4 B.C. Driver's Licence.
