Mainland Plumbing & Heating is a trusted and growing plumbing, heating, and mechanical contractor serving the Lower Mainland. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team.
This position is ideal for someone with strong bookkeeping and accounting experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced construction and service environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payroll and reporting functions, and helping ensure the overall financial health of the company.
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-Time, Permanent
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- 40 hours per week
- Wage: $28.00 – $35.00 per hour (based on experience)
- Overtime may be required during peak periods and will be paid in accordance with BC Employment Standards

Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions using QuickBooks
- Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger accounts
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Manage subcontractor invoices and payments
- Complete bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
- Track company expenses, receipts, and employee reimbursements
- Perform job costing and monitor project-related expenses
- Process payroll and maintain payroll records
- Administer employee group benefit information and updates
- Prepare and file GST/PST returns
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes
- Generate financial reports and summaries for management
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and expense tracking initiatives
- Work closely with external accountants and financial advisors as required
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of bookkeeping experience
- Construction, plumbing, or service industry experience is considered an asset
- Proficiency with QuickBooks is required
- Strong understanding of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations
- Experience with job costing and project-based accounting is preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Accounting, bookkeeping, or finance-related education is an asset
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
