Wills & Estate Legal Assistant (Langley Office)
Work in beautiful Langley with the resources of a mid-sized firm and an office in downtown Vancouver.
We have an excellent opportunity for a Legal Assistant to join a thriving and established law firm with tremendous potential for growth and expansion in the Fraser Valley and Vancouver.
The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and experience in Estate planning to thrive in this fast-paced environment and meet the service standards of our valued clients. We are seeking someone who takes pride in their work. You are an organized, multi-tasker, who takes an interest in ensuring a positive experience for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with lawyers and paralegals in the estate planning area of law
- Contribute to maintaining an efficient BF and calendar system for all dates and correspondence
- Prepare and organize files and drafting correspondence such as probate and estate administration, resealing applications, notice to creditors and estate distribution
- Intake estate planning cold calls
- Conduct wills searches, tax, land title and other legal searches
- Manage accounts receivables by following-up with clients on outstanding invoices
- Communicate with lawyers and paralegals with status of file progression
- Work with clients directly to collect information and answer any client inquiries
- Manage all client verification documentation
Qualifications
- 2-3 years working experience in a legal assistant role, Wills & Estates Law considered an asset
- Previous experience with Soluno, BCOnline, MyLTSA
- Familiarity of WESA
- Legal Assistant Diploma or Certificate
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Professional attitude
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail
