Accountabilities for the role include:
Engage and work with individual insurance and investment clients over the phone and through digital tools, deepening our understanding of clients’ situation, needs and goals with every interaction
Contact and engage with leads, identify their needs and convert them into Sun Life clients.
Respond to client questions and requests promptly and efficiently
Anticipate client needs and proactively provide information and guidance to build a Client for Life relationship
Follow team best practices to appropriately assess clients’ financial needs and align relevant investment and/or insurance solutions to meet those needs
Working in a team environment, ensure detailed note taking for all client interactions to meet regulatory obligations and for continuity of support
Conduct all business according to defined policies and procedures for the team, ensuring compliance practices e.g. Know your client reviews are strictly followed
Work closely with Branch Manager and support teams to stay current on product and regulatory updates
Maintain registration and licensing in good standing as an MFDA Dealing representative and Insurance Advisor across all provinces and territories in Canada
Contribute to the team’s ongoing success by identifying continuous improvement opportunities to help improve client experience and the products and services offered
Foster and participate in a work environment which values people, invites creativity, celebrates learning and accountability and encourages employee engagement
Experience and knowledge:
Bachelor degree or 5 years of relevant experience
2+ Years Mutual Fund sales and service experience
2+ Years insurance sales and service experience
Strong knowledge of retail insurance and investment products
Experience engaging clients over the phone
Strong knowledge and understanding of Mutual Fund Industry, Compliance and Dealer Operations practices
Experience with sales over the phone
Bilingualism (English & French)
Great relationship building skills
Quick learner, able to adapt to constant change and confidently provide accurate information to clients
Ability to leverage digital tools to create engaging client interactions
Comfortable and confident engaging with leads and clients over the phone
Proven ability to generate sales over the phone.
Strong problem solving skills, ability to analyze and think creatively to find the best solutions for client needs or problems.
Focus on quality and attention to detail required
Possess a spirit of innovation and curiosity to help build strong client experiences and processes in a fast-paced, evolving team.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Valid and active Insurance of Persons License
Valid and active Mutual Fund License (MFDA)
Sun Life Individual Insurance and Investment product knowledge
Experience in blended or outbound Call Centre or telephone servicing
Experience using Salesforce.com for client relationship management
