Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Drafting Technologist to join our engineering and design team. This role involves creating precise technical drawings and schematics for various construction and engineering projects, utilizing advanced CAD software. The ideal candidate will possess strong drafting skills, familiarity with industry-standard tools, and a passion for transforming concepts into accurate visual representations. Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Civil 3D, SketchUp, NavisWorks, and SolidWorks.
- Create schematics, construction plans, and technical documentation aligned with project specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to interpret design concepts and translate them into precise drawings.
- Assist in the review and revision of drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Support the development of 2D animation visuals for project presentations when required.
- Maintain organized digital files of all drafting work for easy retrieval and version control.
- Stay updated on emerging drafting techniques and CAD tools to enhance productivity and quality.
Requirements
- Proven experience with CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, SketchUp, NavisWorks, and SolidWorks.
- Strong understanding of drafting principles, schematics, and construction documentation.
- Familiarity with 2D animation techniques is a plus.
- Knowledge of civil engineering or construction processes is desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate technical drawings under tight deadlines.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new software tools and industry standards.
