We are an independent, woman-owned and operated bakery and café in East Vancouver, open for three years and growing quickly. Known for our plant-based banana bread, lemon loaf, croissants, cinnamon buns and a hot beverage program we take as seriously as our baking — our goal is to prove that the future of baking is plant-based and to serve the best, fairly priced oat-milk latte in Vancouver.
As our Front-of-House Supervisor, you’ll be the hands-on leader responsible for the performance, culture, and flow of our busy café. You’ll lead a team of 10–15 baristas and assistants, collaborating closely with our Front of House Manager. This role requires someone who is energized by complexity and constant motion — ideally with restaurant or high-volume café management experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the FOH team, setting clear expectations and establishing a strong service-driven culture.
- Lead and support FOH staff during service
- Act as a point person for guests, resolving issues with professionalism and care
- Train and onboard new FOH team members
- Maintain service standards, cleanliness, and organization
- Assist with scheduling, shift coverage, and daily opening/closing duties
- Communicate clearly with BOH and management to ensure smooth operations
- Handle cash, POS, and end-of-day procedures as needed
- Model excellent hospitality and teamwork at all times
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of café leadership experience
- Must have previous barista experience and be comfortable with high volume coffee production
- Excellent coffee knowledge as you will be responsible for leading our coffee program
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
Schedule
- Full-time leadership role (40 hours per week).
- Saturday and Sunday availability required.
- Flexibility during peak periods or special circumstances is essential.
Compensation
- $23/hour
- Tips ($6-10/hour)
