Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to join our ALCO team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying various liquid coating products internally and externally, finishing manufactured items to protect from corrosion, weather, abrasion or other forms of wear and tea. . This role requires a strong understanding of painting techniques, safety protocols, and mechanical systems to ensure high-quality finishes that meet industry standards. The industrial painter will support the team by maintaining a safe and organized work environment while completing items in accordance with the project schedule and requirements. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and mechanical knowledge are essential for success.
Duties
- Airless spray painting of piping products, structural skids and pressure vessels
- Mixing of multiple component liquid coating products
- Setting up material to be painted on carts and frames
- Masking
- Touch-up painting
- De-masking and packaging for delivery
- Experience and ability to fill out accurate paint reports in time sensitive manner
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience applying industrial coating products with the ability to spray desired mils
- Ability to measure Wet and Dry Film thicknesses (WFTs and DFTs)
- Ability to lance piping internals and apply internal vessel linings (liquid coatings)
- The ability to use tools and equipment safely and abide by all health and safety rules
- Perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication, positive attitude, collaborative and ability to follow directions
- NACE CIP Certification is an asset
- Overhead Crane certification is an asset
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform job duties that may require being able to go on/off equipment, up/down ladders and work at heights
- Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, reach and stretch as required to perform job duties
- Ability to lift, carry, push or pull items 60lbs in accordance with safe work practices
- Ability to work in various environments (office, site, warehouse, etc.,) as required by the role
- Ability to operate standard office equipment or role-specific tools safely
- Ability to work regular work hours and occasional overtime, as required
