Position Overview
This is a skilled, hands-on position working alongside our Lead Hand and Project Manager to deliver high-quality renovation and accessibility projects from start to finish.
The successful candidate will have strong carpentry skills and be comfortable completing a wide variety of renovation work, including framing, structural modifications, drywall, finishing, painting, trim, door installations, accessibility modifications, and general construction tasks. You will play an important role in preparing homes for accessibility equipment installations, completing high-quality renovations, solving problems on site, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of skilled carpentry, renovation, and general construction tasks on residential and commercial projects.
- Work alongside the Lead Hand and Project Manager to complete projects safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to a high standard of workmanship.
- Read and interpret project plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders.
- Complete framing, structural modifications, finishing carpentry, trim and door installation, drywall, taping, painting, flooring, and other renovation tasks as required.
- Prepare homes and buildings for accessibility equipment installations by completing hoistway construction, structural modifications, and other accessibility-related renovation work.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve on-site construction challenges while communicating issues and solutions proactively.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site in accordance with company safety standards.
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards, building code requirements, and client expectations.
- Coordinate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and fellow team members to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with clients, maintaining a positive representation of the company at all times.
- Assist with material handling, site preparation, and other duties required to support successful project completion.
Key Qualifications & Expectations
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on residential construction and renovation experience preferred.
- Strong carpentry skills with experience in framing, finishing, drywall, trim, doors, and general renovations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision while contributing positively as part of a small, collaborative team.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Organized, dependable, self-motivated, and able to effectively manage time and priorities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify practical solutions and make sound decisions on site.
- Adaptable and willing to take on a variety of renovation and construction tasks as project needs evolve.
- Professional, respectful, and courteous when interacting with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and coworkers.
- Physically capable of performing the demands of construction work, including lifting, climbing ladders, working at heights, and using power tools safely.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a criminal record check is considered an asset.
