We are looking for an innovative, hands-on Lead Intelligent Automation Developer to join our Agentic Process Automation team and help design and deliver the next generation of enterprise automation solutions.
As OMERS evolves from traditional robotic process automation toward agentic process automation, the Lead Intelligent Automation Developer will help shape and deliver intelligent automation solutions across corporate functions, capital markets, and private markets. The role will bring together RPA, AI agents, generative AI, and enterprise integrations to solve meaningful business problems, streamline complex workflows, and enable speed and better decision-making at scale.
The ideal candidate is a passionate automation expert with deep expertise in one or more areas of the intelligent automation ecosystem, including UiPath, Power Platform, Copilot Studio, and/or Azure AI Foundry. We are building a complementary team across these capabilities and encourage candidates with strengths in one or more of these domains to apply.
You will be responsible for:
- Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end enterprise agentic automation solutions combining RPA, AI agents, integrations, and human-in-the-loop workflows leveraging UiPath, Power Platform, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and the broader Microsoft AI ecosystem.
- Develop autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents, including decision logic, guardrails, confidence thresholds, and exception handling
- Design multi-agent workflows and orchestration patterns
- Integrate AI and automation solutions with enterprise systems, APIs, databases, and SaaS platforms
- Participate in discovery workshops and solution design discussions to identify high-impact automation opportunities
- Recommend fit-for-purpose technology approaches based on complexity, scalability, risk, and business value
- Modernize existing automation solutions by incorporating AI and agentic capabilities
- Define and execute testing strategies for automation and AI-enabled solutions (functional, regression, integration, AI validation, confidence threshold, exception scenarios, human review workflows, and model output verification)
- Prepare documentation including solution designs, runbooks, and technical specifications, deployment manifests, and process maps
- Provide technical leadership, including code reviews, best practices, and mentoring junior team members
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of automation solutions (design, build, deploy, support, maintain, optimize)
- Partner with AI Delivery, AI Strategy, Data, Security, and Enterprise Architecture teams when solutions require advanced AI patterns, reusable intelligence services, custom model components, or deeper AI architecture expertise
Required Skills& Experience
- 3-5+ years of experience designing, developing, and scaling enterprise RPA, workflow automation, or AI-enabled automation solutions
- Strong hands-on experience with UiPath and Power Platform (UiPath Studio, Orchestrator, Document Understanding, Integration Service, Action Center, Apps, Communications Mining, AI Center, Power Automate, Power Apps) and/or Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of solution architecture and integration patterns
- Experience working with APIs, enterprise systems, and data integrations
- Experience designing Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) workflows for AI enabled solutions
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, fit-for-purpose solutions
- Experience building automated testing frameworks and quality assurance processes for automation and AI solutions.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience facilitating workshops, requirements gathering, or solution design discussions
- Understanding of prompt engineering, prompt configuration, AI service consumption patterns, confidence scoring, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and responsible AI principles
- Experience designing agentic workflows, multi-step AI processes, or AI-enabled automation solutions
Preferred Skills& Experience
- UiPath Solution Architect or UiPath Advanced Developer Certification.
- Hands-on experience developing AI Agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft 365 Copilot extensibility and declarative agents, or similar agentic platforms.
- Experience in process analysis/improvement and software development roles.
- Experience conducting requirements gathering sessions, business process analysis and mapping, stakeholder workshops, process assessments, and SME interviews.
- Knowledge of AI governance, explainability, auditability, monitoring, escalation paths, exception handling, model evaluation, and responsible AI
- Experience implementing enterprise agentic AI solutions using multi-agent architectures.
