Your Team:
Join Flair’s Maintenance team, where safe, reliable, and compliant maintenance operations support aircraft availability across the network. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Maintenance Operations, the Manager, Line Maintenance East is responsible for the leadership, management, and oversight of Flair’s line maintenance stations and contracted maintenance providers throughout the eastern network. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of scheduled and unscheduled line maintenance activities.
The Manager, Line Maintenance East, is responsible for short-term maintenance planning to ensure aircraft, equipment, spare parts, and manpower are available to support operational requirements. Working closely with internal stakeholders and maintenance partners, the role supports operational reliability, regulatory compliance, and effective maintenance support across the network.
A Day in the Life:

Ensure all AMO operations are carried out in accordance with Flair Airlines’ Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM), Maintenance Control Manual (MCM), and applicable safety requirements.

Oversee the daily operation of the Line Maintenance function in coordination with FLE Short-Term Planning and the Maintenance Control Centre (MCC).

Coordinate with Line Maintenance station providers to ensure appropriate staffing levels are in place to support the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and to evaluate performance against operational and maintenance requirements.

Manage Flair’s AMO line maintenance stations, including the hiring of AMEs, development of shift rosters, and maintenance of staffing levels that support operational requirements and cost targets.

Work closely with the Training department to support new hires onboarding and ensure required AME training is completed.

Manage third-party maintenance providers, ensuring compliance with SGHA contract service levels, Flair processes, and timely resolution of non-conformities.

Conduct base visits to outstations as required to ensure operational standards, compliance, and performance expectations are maintained.

Make recommendations regarding tooling and parts requirements across the network to support effective line maintenance operations.

Recommend changes to line maintenance procedures to improve operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Collaborate with the Vice President, Maintenance and Senior Manager, Maintenance Operations to develop and monitor the Line Maintenance budget.

Support the development of Line Maintenance KPI reports for management review and communicate performance concerns or noteworthy issues to senior leadership.

Participate in daily defect meetings and provide informed updates on completed and outstanding maintenance tasks.

Serve as a key point of contact for managing timelines related to aircraft defect clearance.

Support aircraft on ground (AOG) recovery efforts as required.

Coordinate with Material Supply Chain to ensure appropriate inventory is maintained at each base.

Participate in monthly KPI review meetings and Technical Reliability meetings.

Work with the Maintenance Control Manager to prepare delay post-mortem reports for review during delay meetings.

Promote the use of the Safety Management System (SMS) and ensure hazards are reported in accordance with company procedures.

Promote and uphold the Flair Aviation Safety Policy Statement.

Ensure Flair facilities and equipment are maintained to a high standard, including conducting routine internal audits of offices, vehicles, tools, and related resources.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President, Maintenance (PRM).

Education:

Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) M2 licence is required.

Boeing 737 NG and/or MAX endorsement is considered a strong asset.

Experience:
-
Minimum of six (6) to ten (10) years of line maintenance experience is required.
-
Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of leadership or supervisory experience is required.
-
Experience setting up new line maintenance stations is required.
-
Previous experience managing third-party maintenance providers is preferred.
-
Experience coordinating short-term maintenance planning activities, including manpower, tooling, spares, and aircraft support requirements, is preferred.
-
Experience overseeing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities in an operational airline environment is required.
-
Experience working closely with Maintenance Control, Supply Chain, and operational stakeholders to support aircraft serviceability and defect resolution is preferred.

Experience participating in budget planning, KPI monitoring, and performance reporting is considered an asset.

Proven ability to monitor performance, identify gaps, and implement practical solutions to improve efficiency and compliance.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Maintenance Control, Supply Chain, Training, and station leadership.

Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, company policies, and maintenance standards as they relate to line maintenance operations.

Ability to coach and develop team members while fostering accountability and a positive safety culture.
