Kubota Materials Canada specializes in high-performance alloys and friction materials from raw materials to finished products under one roof in Orillia, Canada. Manufacturing unique heat-resistant alloys and high-nickel/chrome alloys primarily for the petrochemical industries, Kubota leads the industry in quality and advanced technology. As per customer requirements, Kubota designs and casts centrifugal pipes and static castings of fittings, which are then machined, welded (Automatic, Semi-Automatic, Orbital & Manual), GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, followed by in-house NDT (RT, PT, VT), in-house DT, R&D lab, as well as hydro testing.
Summary:
Responsible for the processing of payroll and administration of benefits for hourly employees at Kubota Materials Canada Corporation.

Process Union-hourly payroll on a biweekly pay schedule in ADP system

Maintain knowledge of current collective agreement and its impact on pay and benefits

Ensure compliance with all applicable Canadian federal and provincial payroll regulation and company policies

Ensure accurate and timely data entry of new hires, internal transfers, leave of absences, terminations, and wage adjustments for hourly employees

Process annual Union wage increases including updates for group benefits

Prepare month end balance reports for Finance and assist with year-end payroll audit requests

Prepare cheque requisitions and remittances for Union dues, garnishments

Maintain compliance with AODA guidelines

Respond in a timely manner to requests from Supervisors regarding pay discrepancies

Maintain current paper filing system for HR personnel records

Act as back up to Salaried payroll to cover vacation leaves

Ensure alignment with the overall Human Resources departmental goals and objectives

Post secondary education in Payroll, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited college or university

Completion of National Payroll Institute certificate in Payroll Administration

Thorough knowledge of payroll practices and applicable reporting guidelines

Minimum of 3 years payroll administration experience preferably in a unionized environment

Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

Experience using a recent-release HRMS system required, experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred

Superior interpersonal and communication skills
Display of patience when communicating payroll information to employees with little, or no, subject familiarity
