Company Overview:
Pharmasave is one of Canada’s leading independently owned and operated community pharmacy banners, with more than 900 stores across the country. Since 1981, we have combined the strength of a national organization with the local insight and independence of community pharmacies. Our National team develops programs, partnerships, tools, and services that help Pharmasave owners serve their communities and operate strong, sustainable businesses. This is an opportunity to bring organization, responsiveness, and collaboration to high-profile events that connect our store network, suppliers, partners, and National teams.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a permanent, full-time Merchandising Promotions Coordinator to support the effective execution of national promotional programs, category initiatives, seasonal campaigns, loyalty activities, and supplier programs across the Pharmasave network.
Reporting to the National Director, Merchandising, you will coordinate timelines, documentation, pricing and promotional information, reporting, and stakeholder follow-up. You will work closely with Merchandising, Category Management, Marketing, Finance, Business Technology, regional teams, and suppliers to help ensure programs are accurate, timely, and ready for execution.
This role is well suited to someone who enjoys bringing structure to complex work, using data to identify issues and opportunities, and helping cross-functional teams keep important deliverables moving.
What You Will Be Accountable For:
- Coordinate the administrative and operational execution of national promotional programs, merchandising initiatives, seasonal campaigns, category events, and vendor trade show activities.
- Maintain promotional calendars, pricing files, planogram schedules and expenses, supplier documentation, merchandising records, and other program information.
- Support loyalty activities by coordinating inputs and follow-up across Category Management, Marketing, and Finance.
- Prepare category, loyalty, promotional, pricing, sales, margin, and inventory reports for Category Managers and merchandising leadership.
- Review information for accuracy, completeness, trends, and exceptions, and flag risks, issues, or opportunities that require review or decision-making.
- Gather information, organize inputs, validate data, and prepare materials that support promotional planning and merchandising decisions.
- Coordinate follow-up with suppliers, regional teams, Marketing, Finance, Business Technology, and other stakeholders to resolve routine execution issues.
- Track action items, deadlines, approvals, and outstanding information to support timely completion and clear accountability.
- Identify recurring process gaps, reporting needs, data-quality issues, and workflow inefficiencies, and recommend practical improvements.
What You Bring:
- Two to four years of experience in merchandising coordination, retail operations support, category administration, promotional execution, business analysis, or a related role.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Retail Management, Analytics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Strong Excel and data-management skills, including lookups, pivot tables, formulas, data validation, structured reporting, and maintaining accurate product, pricing, promotional, supplier, or inventory information.
- Strong analytical judgment, with the ability to identify exceptions, risks, workflow gaps, and competing priorities and communicate clear next steps.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, follow-through, and communication skills, with a collaborative and continuous-improvement mindset.
- Experience in pharmacy, grocery, convenience, consumer packaged goods, or another multi-location retail environment.
- Exposure to category management, promotional planning, supplier programs, planograms, item setup, pricing, or assortment processes.
- Experience with retail, ERP, inventory, product information, business intelligence, or reporting systems, including Power BI or similar tools.
- Experience with process improvement, workflow documentation, data governance, or standard operating procedures.
