Join Our Culinary Leadership Team
Galt Country Club is seeking a motivated, professional, and hands-on Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef in leading a high-performing kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and is looking to grow their leadership skills while contributing to exceptional member and guest experiences.
Our culinary program features casual dining, upscale dining, golf operations, weddings, banquets, member events, and seasonal feature menus.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the day-to-day management of kitchen operations
- Lead and supervise cooks during service periods
- Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards are maintained
- Support menu execution, feature development, and banquet production
- Train, mentor, and develop culinary team members
- Monitor food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving, and food cost control
- Help manage prep production and station organization
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional kitchen environment
- Step into leadership roles when the Executive Chef is absent
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of culinary experience in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
- Experience with banquets, events, and high-volume service is considered an asset
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lead by example and maintain high standards under pressure
- Understanding of food cost management and inventory control
- Food Handler Certification required
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
