Freelance Custom Cabinet Installer
JVBC Custom Kitchens & Renovations is looking for an experienced freelance cabinet installer for on-call projects throughout London, Ontario and the surrounding area.
This is a project-based position with no fixed or guaranteed hours. The installer will be contacted as kitchen, vanity, built-in and other custom cabinetry installations become available.
Responsibilities
- Complete custom cabinetry installations from initial layout through final adjustments.
- Read and follow cabinet drawings, elevations and installation notes.
- Install base cabinets, uppers, islands, pantries, vanities and built-in units.
- Accurately fit and install fillers, panels, toe kicks, crown moulding, trim and hardware.
- Scribe cabinetry and finished components to uneven walls, floors and ceilings.
- Adjust doors, drawers and hardware to achieve clean, consistent reveals.
- Identify and communicate site issues, missing components or required modifications.
- Protect the customer’s home, maintain a clean work area and complete a final walkthrough.
Qualifications
- Proven experience installing custom kitchens and cabinetry.
- Strong cabinet-installation and finish-carpentry skills.
- Able to work independently and solve common installation challenges.
- High attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
- Professional, dependable and respectful when working in customers’ homes.
- Physically capable of safely moving and installing cabinetry.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
- Own professional installation tools and dust-control equipment.
- Appropriate liability insurance and WSIB coverage or exemption, where applicable.
Work Arrangement
- Freelance or subcontract position.
- No fixed schedule or guaranteed hours.
- Projects and installation dates will be offered as work becomes available.
- Compensation will be agreed upon based on the size and requirements of each installation.
