Founding Personal Trainer
Location: Montgomery, NW Calgary
Gym Type: Private Training Gym / Startup Gym
Pay: $30 - $50 hour, with room to grow as the gym grows
About Us
We are opening a private training gym in Montgomery in NW Calgary.
We want to build something that feels different from the usual gym environment. Not crowded. Not intimidating. Not full of ego. Not a place where trainers are treated like salespeople, or where clients are treated like walking dollar signs.
We want this gym to feel safe, welcoming, community-oriented, and serious about training. A place where people can work hard without feeling judged. A place where clients are treated like people, not numbers.
Our goal is to create a third space for our community. Somewhere people can show up, feel comfortable, be challenged, and know that the people around them actually care.As one of our first hires, you would have a real voice in helping shape what this gym becomes. We are especially interested in finding a female trainer for this role, as we want to build a team that reflects the safe, balanced, and welcoming environment we are trying to create.
The Role
We are looking for a Personal Trainer who wants to help build a private training gym from the ground up.
You would be training clients in a private gym setting, helping them build strength, confidence, consistency, and long-term progress.
A big part of the role will be tracking client progress properly. This includes recording lifts, weights, reps, sets, weigh-ins, measurements, attendance, and progress notes.
We are building systems to make this easier, clearer, and more useful for everyone. The goal is not to bury trainers in admin work and support trainers with better tools, better tracking, and eventually a dedicated analytics system that helps clients see their progress and helps trainers make better decisions.
If there are systems, tools, processes, or forms of support that would make your job easier, more organized, or more fulfilling, we want to hear about them. Since we are starting from the ground up, we have the chance to build things the right way from the beginning.
If you already have your own clients, you are welcome to bring them with you and train them out of our space. We want this to be a good place for both clients and trainers, not a place that tries to control people or take advantage of them.
