Our client is located in Markham and they are looking for a full time permanent Cabling Infrastructure Estimator.
The selected qualified professional has a minimum five (5) years estimating\designing infrastructure systems experience with a working knowledge of copper and fibre optic infrastructure systems, comms cabinets\racking systems, pathways, industry standards (TIA\EIA, IEEEE, BICSI, etc). Proven ability to develop a design\solution including completing overall take-off from drawing and prepare materials, hardware and labour estimates. Knowledge in the various OEM products such as Commscope, Panduit, Corning, etc. Experience working with an aggressive Sales Team.
Responsibilities
· Pre-sales support, quote take-offs, proposal preparation, scope of work development, design and proposal presentation for all accounts, sales team and various customers.
· Complete required site surveys as needed to assess the overall project requirements and scope of work.
· Complete estimate preparation including project take-off and specifications
· Work with distribution partners and OEM’s to ensure that the best materials pricing is secured as well as any available discounts for each bid opportunity that you are involved with.
· Complete all labour, materials and expense estimations within systems.
· Participate in overall estimate review and margin discussions during pricing phase
· Provide a detailed scope of work document that can be imported into the sales proposal
· Provide required drawings, SOW and additional technical and financial details required to hand-off awarded projects to Finance & Operations.
· Preparation of turnover package, upon award of projects, to the operations team.
· Ensure that you are meeting all required RFQ and customer requested due dates and ensure that the customer account owners are in the communication loop on the bid process.
· Accept accountability for the estimates you perform to ensure they are as accurate as they can be to the best of your ability to ensure a high win ratio is achieved and take appropriate action to correct any shortfalls in this area.
· At all times while involved in estimating the various projects you must maintain a positive relationship with the customer’s representative and all staff and related partners.
· Ensure 100% customer satisfaction objectives are maintained in all aspects of your responsibilities in this role.
Desired Skills
· Demonstrated experience planning, organizing and coordinating construction projects
· Experience reading plans and ability to understand the scope of projects assigned
· Extensive knowledge of applicable laws, codes and industry regulations
· Financial and job cost accounting knowledge
· Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
· Strong negotiating skills
· Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, Excel, Word, Teams
· Valid driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $85,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
