A busy personal injury law firm looking to fill a Legal Assistant position. Experience in the personal injury field is required, especially experience with Tort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Open, organize, and maintain client files
- Manage calendars, including court dates, deadlines, and appointments
- Communicate with clients regarding case updates and documentation requests
- Draft and prepare legal correspondence and documents, including trial records
- Request, review, and organize medical records, accident reports, undertakings as recieved in the Examination for Discovery
- Summarize medical and other records for lawyer review
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claims and documentation
- File legal documents with the court and ensure compliance with procedural requirements
- Schedule examinations for discovery, mediations, and other litigation events
- Conduct basic legal research under lawyer supervision
- Track file progress and ensure deadlines are met
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in personal injury or litigation preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple files in a fast-paced environment
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice management software
- Knowledge of court procedures and legal documentation
Assets:
- Familiarity with personal injury claims and insurance processes
- Experience handling medical records and legal documentation
- Understanding of litigation timelines and deadlines
Work Environment:
This role requires the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with lawyers and other team members in a deadline-driven environment.
Pay: $35,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
