Company Overview

Alea Software is an Agile/Scrum software development shop with a number of cross functional teams focusing on the design, development, testing and implementation of our expansive software product suite.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be a member of our Quality Assurance team and will have a proven ability to create and maintain automated and performance scripts. You will develop, execute and maintain the automated suite through analyzing and understanding product architecture and feature requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

Write manual & automated test cases to verify product functionality as features are being developed

Create and execute test plans, test cases, test scenarios, regression tests, and work with developers to ensure all reported software bugs/defects are resolved

Execute tests at all phases of the release cycle including functional, load, regression testing etc.

Document defects into a bug tracking system

Work closely with developers to ensure features are built according to plan

Assist in developing new functional test case documents based on test plan and user requirements

Build test case documents based on test plan and user requirements

Serve as a technical QA expert on our product suites

Communicate status regularly and effectively to project and functional leaders

Required Education & Skills

5+ years’ hands on experience developing web application automation test suites using Selenium WebDriver and Junit

Good understanding of object oriented programming concepts

Comprehensive knowledge of java technology (Java/ Javascript/Jmeter), as well as ability to quickly learn new technology stacks

5+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance with Agile Software Methodologies

Expert understanding of QA testing processes and methodologies

Experience developing and executing load scripts using Jmeter

Extensive experience in Linux – ability to install, monitor and troubleshoot server applications utilizing Jboss, Tomcat and Apache

Strong working knowledge of relational and non-relational database systems (PostgresSQL, MongoDB, Oracle, etc)

RESTful Web services automation experience is a plus

Experience integrating tests into CI platforms such as Jenkins or GITLab CI

Experienced using Jira and Confluence is preferred

Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills

Excellent communication, written and collaboration skills

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
