Elgin Contracting and Restoration Ltd. is a General Contractor that has been servicing Southwestern Ontario for 30 years. We are currently looking to add to our team an experienced Construction Project Manager. Required Experienced Qualifications Include:
Project Coordination:
- Source, negotiate and coordinate sub-trades. Acquire estimates for each subtrade.
- Request and organize shop drawings.
- Arrange locates.
- Issue, organize and log purchase orders, work change orders, field change orders, RFI’s.
- Develop and maintain project schedules.
- Maintain drawings and specifications for constant reference.
- Prepare accurate timely monthly billings.
- Maintain positive cash flow while monitoring and forecasting project costs reports ensuring alignment with the project estimate.
- Intuitively spot shortcomings in scope, cost and schedule and take proper action to get project back on track in a timely fashion.
- Prepare close-out manuals, as-builts, and close out documents.
- Coordinate deficiency completion.
Leadership:
- Provide support, coaching, direction and encouragement to the Project team.
- Address issues with diplomacy and resolve quickly.
- Maintain positive, efficient relations with all project stakeholders.
- Maintain efficiency on site with subtrades to adhere to project schedule.
- Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude.
- Promote and seek assistance from Project Coordinator(s).
Communication:
- Schedule and attend site meetings with Clients, Consultants, sub-trades.
- Record and distribute meeting minutes.
- Seek assistance of CEO and discuss all budgetary differences.
- Proactively address concerns of the Client, Site Superintendent.
- Foster and enhance Client, Consultants and subtrade relations.
- Represent the Company in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Adhere to company Health & Safety policies and procedures to ensure a healthy and safe working environment:
- Wear required PPE when on job sites.
- Perform in compliance with Company and Client Health & Safety Program at all times.
- Complete all required forms and participate in the Company and Client Health & Safety programs.
- Participate in ESRTW Programs.
- Participate in any MOL, MOE, Municipal or other governing audits or visits.
Additional duties as assigned:
- Assist with supervision and labour when required.
- Attend mandatory site visits when required.
- Pick-up and delivery of materials.
- Ensure maintenance of all site specific company owned vehicles, machines, tools.
Knowledge:
- 3-5 years applied ICI Construction industry knowledge is a requirement.
- AutoCAD/ BIM and ability to read blue prints.
- Applied technical knowledge.
- Architectural or Construction Management education/experience is preferred.
- Current working knowledge with Ontario Building Code(s).
- Experience with new construction and renovations.
