Lens Landscaping Ltd – Playground Supervisor (Crew Lead)
Lens Landscaping Ltd is a COR-certified commercial landscaping and playground installation company. We are seeking an experienced Playground Supervisor/Crew Lead to oversee a small crew (3–4 workers) for the upcoming season.
Position Overview
As a Playground Supervisor, you will lead and support your crew in the installation of playgrounds, site furnishings, sports equipment, and safety surfacing across municipal parks, schools, and community spaces throughout Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. You will be responsible for ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high-quality standard. Installer certification and asset or willing to work towards getting one (Len’s Landscaping Ltd will provide and pay for training for the right individual).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a crew of 3–4 installers on job sites
- Interpret and work from site drawings, blueprints, and project layouts
- Assign daily tasks and ensure work is carried out correctly and efficiently
- Align and assemble structural playground components according to specifications
- Oversee concrete work, grading, and installation of surfacing materials as required
- Load, unload, and organize materials, tools, and equipment on site
- Ensure all work meets safety standards and COR compliance requirements
- Maintain high-quality workmanship on all installations
- Communicate effectively with employees, project managers, and any other office personal
- Travel throughout Manitoba and Northern Manitoba, including occasional out-of-town stays (10-14days)
- Train and support crew members in construction and installation best practices
Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in landscape construction, playground installation, or related construction field
- Proven leadership experience or ability to lead small crews
- Ability to read and interpret site drawings and installation plans (required)
- Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills
- Experience with power tools and hand tools (required)
- Machine operating experience (skid steer, mini excavator) considered an asset
- Strong work ethic and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift 50-100 lbs and perform physically demanding work over long days
- Strong communication and team management skills
