About the Opportunity
Opus Consulting Group is partnering with an established, financially secure organization in the construction and infrastructure sector to recruit an IT Manager for its head office in Metro Vancouver. Our client has a long and stable history and has recently become part of a larger national group, positioning the business for sustainable growth. The culture is operation-centric, performance-driven, and genuinely people-oriented, with visible leadership, regular social events, and a strong focus on transparency and staff development.
This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of the IT function within a well-run, growing business, and to grow into broader IT leadership over time.
'The Role'
This is a hands-on, sole-charge IT role responsible for the day-to-day operation, performance, reliability, and security of the company's network infrastructure and communication systems. Operating as a one-person IT department, you will balance technical execution with strategic planning, acting as the organization's go-to IT expert while proactively shaping the technology roadmap.
The environment is stable and well-organized, with a focus on planning and steady improvement rather than constant urgent issues. Reporting to the CFO, this role offers real autonomy and the chance to build credibility quickly by getting involved early in new initiatives.
Please note: this is a player, not a coach. The role suits someone who enjoys solving technical problems directly and personally, rather than delegating to a team.
