Custodian employees are responsible for the cleanliness of multiple YW facilities and environments. As a member of a dynamic team, the custodian is responsible for keeping public and common areas safe and uncluttered. The successful candidate will be required to fulfil duties pertaining to the basic maintenance and day to day janitorial services for the building. The successful candidate is expected to be Knowledgeable of, and adherence to, YW policies and procedures and Occupational Health and Safety standards as required.
This is a relief position working Monday to Friday; with an occasional weekend rotation. This position involves regular lifting, moving, bending and standing for extended periods of time.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Clean, maintain and ensure overall cleanliness of all common areas, public bathrooms, kitchens, service areas of all YW Facilities
- Ensure that all safety standards for the building are met
- Be sure that all work areas and equipment are cleaned and maintained
- Provide coverage and cross-trained in all YW Facilities
- Conduct special cleaning projects or assist in special events when requested
- Proactively notify team lead on areas that require attention or maintenance
- Attend employee meetings, retreats and training sessions as required
- Waste collection, disposal and recycling
- Assist with program generated duties as required/assigned

Use all safety materials, equipment, devices and tools required to safely perform work in alignment with YW’s role and task requirements
Actively participate in the implementation of the National Standard for Psychological Health & Safety and integrate into all work practices and interactions with colleagues.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- A clear Police Information Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search, and an Intervention Record Check is required upon commencement of employment.
- Minimum 6 months experience in a similar role
- Ability to multi-task and work within a highly dynamic environment
- CPR & First Aid current certification
- WHMIS Training current certification
- A valid driver's license to transport to multiple worksite for different shifts if required
- Ability to communicate well verbally and writing English
