Responsibilities:
· Perform high cleaning from ladders, platforms, mechanical lifts, etc.
· Shampoos furniture, upholstery and carpets.
· Transport supplies, equipment, furniture and other items within the building on a scheduled basis, or as required.
· Ensure the care, cleaning and general maintenance of equipment.
· Clean exam rooms, treatment areas, offices, waiting rooms and common areas in accordance with the established procedures outlined in the Housekeeping Manual.
· Collection and disposal of garbage and recycling.
· Perform disinfection as per established procedures for isolation/additional precautions.
· Clean the physical environment at the frequency set out in housekeeping standards.
· Assist in the set up and take down for meetings in the meeting rooms.
· Snow clearing of entrances and emptying of outdoor garbage, as required.
· Perform other related duties not exceeding skills and capabilities.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of Grade 10.
· Previous experience in housekeeping in a health care facility preferred.
· Ability to lift, pull or push approximately 50 lbs./23 kgs.
· Ability to climb ladders/skyjack/scissor lift.
· Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
· Ability to successfully complete the Equipment Safety Training with a score of at least 80%, in either English or French.
· Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, planning the working day and setting priorities effectively.
· Able to interact well with others.
· Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday (7.75 hours per day).
Salary: $19.164 - $22.139 per hour as per CUPE salary scale.
Conditions of hire:
· Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and able to present a satisfactory Criminal Records Check (Including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse and Adult Abuse Registry Check.
