You will join a team of professionals that are responsible for utilizing an educational approach to assist Employers in Alberta in complying with WCB policy, legislation and in becoming familiar with available on-line services. This involves conducting detailed audits of employer business records, interviews and investigations.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop strategies for overall audit plan which includes identifying key contacts and appropriate financial data to be reviewed.
  • Ensure employers are properly classified in their industry(s) according to their operations for rate-setting purposes.
  • Confirm ownership, corporate structure and other business relationships to ensure appropriate experience is used to set the employer premium rate.
  • Determine worker status, premium assessments and proper worker claims charging by applying relevant policy and legislation.
  • Educate employers and identify issues that may result in inaccurate employer reporting of assessable earnings.
  • Educate and help employers improve their disability management programs at a high level through Account Planning Consultations.
  • Prepare audit reports for our customers outlining issues and possible solutions.
  • Provide customer service and education to employers and other stakeholders by promoting awareness and understanding of the WC Act, policies, procedures and pricing programs.
Qualifications:
  • An undergraduate or graduate degree with courses in business administration, finance or accounting with several years of directly related auditing experience. Equivalencies will be considered.
  • An in depth knowledge of Workers’ Compensation legislation and WCB policy and procedures.
  • Excellent computer skills with experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Lotus Notes.
  • Strong analytical and decision making skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated research and problem solving ability with well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with a commitment to providing quality customer service within a team environment.
  • Overnight travel within the province and a roadworthy vehicle is required. Some out of province travel may be required.
As a term and condition of employment, an incumbent in this job will be required to drive their own vehicle for business purposes. Incumbents must possess a valid operator's license, ensure the vehicle is maintained in sound mechanical condition, attend mandatory defensive driving training, observe all traffic regulations and follow all safe work procedures.

Salary:
Salary Range 11

Start Rate: $73,500 to Job Rate: $86,436 per annum
