DeFord Contracting Inc. is looking for an experienced GOMACO Stringliner for Civil Construction city projects in and around the Greater Edmonton Area. DeFord is a leading contractor in Edmonton, Alberta, specializing in municipal road projects, subdivision land development, parking lots, and other key infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:
- Set up, maintain, and remove stringline for GOMACO concrete operations.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, grades, and site plans to ensure accurate stringline placement.
- Verify line and grade to maintain paving accuracy and meet project specifications.
- Work closely with survey crews, foremen, and equipment operators to coordinate paving activities.
- Inspect and troubleshoot stringline equipment to ensure proper operation throughout the project.
- Perform grade checks and make adjustments as required during operations.
- Assist with site preparation, layout, and other labour duties as required.
- Follow all company health and safety policies, procedures, and Alberta OH&S regulations.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or repair requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience operating GOMACO stringline equipment or performing stringline setup for concrete paving projects.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with reliable transportation.
- Experience working on municipal road construction, subdivision developments, parking lots, or other civil infrastructure projects.
- Ability to read construction drawings, grade stakes, and survey information.
- Knowledge of line and grade requirements for concrete paving operations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
