Bayshore Therapy and Rehab is currently looking for candidates to join our team in Courtenay/Comox, Kamloops, Kelowna and Vancouver for community-based case coordination and Occupational Therapy services.
The Community Occupational Therapist, under the direction of the Director of Therapy BC, is responsible for completion of professional activities that include assessment, treatment, education, and management of clients requiring occupational therapy intervention, in accordance with standards of practice of the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia.
Assessment of clients, establishment and ongoing evaluation and revision of treatment programs.
Maintain current accurate clinical records according to standards set by College of Occupational Therapists of BC.
Document assessment results, goals, treatment, client progress and discharge plans.
Collaborate with other members of the health team and external stakeholders as needed.
Communicate pertinent information and recommendations to clients/care providers and provide education regarding treatment strategies as needed.
Maintain active standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of BC.
Participate in ongoing internal and/or external education activities.
Adhere to Bayshore Therapy and Rehab Policies and Procedures.
Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System.
Participate in proactive Health and Safety activities while performing all duties. Responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health and Safety risks or concerns.
Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information and discuss same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.
May provide clinical teaching and supervision to occupational therapy students.
Complete other related duties as required.
Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
Registered and in good standing with College of Occupational Therapists of BC.
Possess a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle with proof of insurance
Must be eligible to work for any employer in Canada
Minimum of 1 year of clinical or community practice experience
Knowledge of auto insurance and the legal system is an asset
Strong formal report writing skills
Excellent time management skills
Ability to work independently and with an interdisciplinary team
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel etc.)
