We are seeking a friendly, attentive, and growing Server to join our dynamic restaurant team.
The ideal candidate will excel in providing exceptional guest services, ensuring a memorable dining experience, and maintaining high standards of hospitality, food safety and sanitation. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for the food industry, hospitality, and customer service to grow their skills in a fast-pace, team oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Lightspeed, ensuring timely delivery of food and beverages
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, daily specials, and food ingredients and drinks to answer guest questions effectively
- Ensure proper food handling and sanitation procedures are followed in accordance with food safety standards
- Assist on dishwashing duties when needed. (ie, returning plates and polishing utensils for resets. Running dishes through during slow days when no dishwasher is present)
- Manage time efficiently to serve multiple tables simultaneously while maintaining quality service
- Address guest concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction and resolve issues professionally
- Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, tables, service stations and washrooms in compliance with sanitation standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment preferred but not required
- Valid ProServe certification is a must
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Knowledge of POS systems such as Lightspeed is a plus
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and billing accuracy
- Familiarity with food safety, sanitation practices, and food handling procedures
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Experience with food industry standards including serving, upselling, and hospitality best practices is desirable
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as needed
- Self-sufficient and always looking for new tasks to help and get ahead
