We are a busy dry cleaning business looking for a full time skilled and detail-oriented Seamstress to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Perform clothing alterations, repairs, and customizations with precision and attention to detail
- Take precise measurements, perform fittings, and adjust garments (e.g., hemming pants, taking in seams, or adjusting dress lengths) to fit clients accordingly.
- Mend tears, stitch loose seams, and replace faulty zippers, buttons, or hooks.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly and professionally with clients
- Keep accurate records of alterations performed and ensure timely completion of each task
- Clean, oil, and troubleshoot industrial or domestic sewing machines to ensure they are in safe, working order.
Skills
- Proficiency in various sewing techniques and use of various sewing machines (single stitch, double stitches, serger, blind stitch)
- Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with clients and address their needs
- Strong understanding of garment construction and fabric types
- Basic math skills for taking measurements and calculating adjustments
- Ability to work fast, independently with minimal supervision
- Flexibility to adapt to different projects and customer requests
