Waring House Restaurant and Inn in Picton, Prince Edward County is seeking several line cooks . Past experience with both fine dining and/ more casual fare is an asset. Further training on the job is available. The restaurant serves breakfast followed by an all day dining menu starting at 12:00 in The Barley Room Pub and Amelia's Garden Dining Room
Waring House has two kitchens : one services the pub and dining room and one is for banquets and events and is home to a recreational cookery school. The successful candidate has the opportunity to work in these various settings with opportunities to learn and expand skill sets. We seek employees with an interest in learning and aquiring new skills and knowledge.
Practices at Waring House Include: sourcing and serving local produce including that grown in our onsite garden or purchased at market gardens located within 5 minutes of Waring House , sourcing local and seasonal foods of all kinds to reduce the environmental footprint of restaurant service. Using only tracible fishes and seafood, energy conservation, recycling ,composting and food share are all goals we are working on at Waring House. An interest and willingness to be a participant in these areas is important.
Flexibility with hours exists. Limited breakfast shifts may be available.
Up to date Public Health Safe Food Handlers Certification is required or must be updated in a timely manner.
Part-time or full time positions available with some seasonal variability. Wage dependent on experience, ability and degree of participation in potential aspects mentioned. Although 3-4 week lead time is noted above positions are available immediately. We will work with the need to give notice ,etc.
